Welcome Home

Wow.. I got back from Montana today and I am still a little overwhelmed and it may take me a few days to blog about it. But... I will say that the family I met there made me feel welcome and I am proud to know them. They were wonderful and generous. I loved listening to them tell stories and I even learned a couple words in Blackfeet. Oki means hello. The Blackfeet have no word for goodbye so I told everyone I would see them again.

Bye Tacoma

I'm finally leaving for Montana.  I arrive tomorrow morning in Glacier and ride my bike to Heart Butte.

Reoccurring Dreams

I used to have this reoccurring dream that I was at a kind of all nation pow wow in a huge arena (like the Tacoma Dome or the old Kingdome). As I walked down the stairs towards an empty seat next to my mother and sister, I took at look at all these people filling up rows and rows of seats. I said to myself, “I don’t know these people” and turned to leave. As I began to walk back up the stairs, a huge eagle swoops down over my head and lands on the seat empty seat I was going to take. I looked out at the rows of people and the first couple rows are solid but the farther back, the fainter the people appeared. They were transparent—like ghost. The eagle looks at me but doesn’t speak. Yet in my head I hear him tell me to take my seat.
